In today’s fast-paced real estate market, it is essential for homebuyers and sellers to work with a realtor they can trust. Kate Richard, co-founder and team leader at Ben and Kate Real Estate, makes a point to get to know each of her clients on a personal level and works hard to ensure their experience is as smooth and stress-free as possible.
“It’s important to understand the buyer’s values so that I can help them find a home that meets their needs,” says Richard, who prides herself on being a good listener and strong advocate for her clients. “I give honest advice and always treat each individual like they’re our only client.”
One factor that makes Richard especially good at her job is that she is relatable. Prior to working in real estate, she went through the process of buying and selling her own home several times and she came away from these experiences inspired to help others find the home of their dreams. “I knew that I wanted to do real estate in a different way and provide transparent advice throughout the process,” says Richard. Richard eventually teamed up with her friend and neighbor Ben Perrotta to co-found Ben and Kate Real Estate in 2010, and quickly became one of the top real estate agents on the South Shore.
Richard’s team is constantly innovating and elevating the experience for consumers by incorporating new technology. “How we visually present a house to the online community is incredibly important,” says Richard, “We do everything very professionally, from home staging and photography to marketing videos.”
“We aim to make the process of buying or selling a home enjoyable and fun for people,” says Richard, who fosters lasting relationships with her clients. Her company is known to host movie nights and ice cream socials at Hornstra Farms in Norwell for their growing community of happy customers. “I really love the challenge of my job,” says Richard. “Every deal is a little bit different but being able to make people happy makes it all worthwhile.”
