An Evening of Poetry with Elaine Sorrentino

Join poet Elaine Sorrentino at the Pembroke Public Library on Wednesday, September 10, 6:30 pm, as she shares stories and poems about growing up in New England, family life, writing humorous haiku, and making the jump from journalist to poet, choosing to tell her story in verse. Elaine is author of “Belly Dancing in a Brown Sweatsuit” which was released by Kelsay Books in January of 2025. She is relatively new to the poetry scene, and since 2017 has been published in journals such as Minerva Rising, Willawaw Journal, Glass: A Journal of Poetry, Gyroscope Review, Ekphrastic Review, Quartet Journal, ONE ART: a journal of poetry, Cool Beans Lit, and Haikuniverse. Elaine is a lover of ekphrastic poetry and haiku, holds a journalism degree from Suffolk University, facilitates the Duxbury Poetry Circle and lives in Pembroke with her husband Ed.
