A lifelong Scituate resident and respected fine art photographer, Kat Hanfin grew up sailing and fishing and has always loved being near the ocean. She now dedicates her days to capturing serene coastal images and turning them into large-scale pieces of art. The founder of The Nautical Collection, her work includes close-up images of glistening ocean waves, dynamic perspectives of majestic sailboats, and painterly seascapes with cotton candy skies.
Hanafin’s ethereal photography style evokes a sense of calm and tranquility, making her framed prints a popular choice for interior designers and South Shore residents looking to personalize the decor of a home or office. She also offers custom design services, guiding customers through the process of selecting the perfect image and ensuring that each photograph is sized and framed for the best possible presentation.
“There’s nothing better than knowing my photographs make people happy,” says Hanafin, who sells her work at her home studio, which is located less than a mile from Scituate Harbor. In addition to fine art, she also produces annual photo calendars for the towns of Scituate, Cohasset and Marshfield showcasing beautiful landscapes and iconic landmarks.
