DeScenza Diamonds has been located in the Downtown Crossing shopping district of Boston, Massachusetts since 1915. The building is today located across from the new Millennium Tower and Shoppers Park, in "The Diamond & Jewelers Building" at 387 Washington Street. A bronze mural in the lobby, commissioned by DeScenza Diamonds, depicts the history of a diamond, but take one of the elevators to the sixth floor, and the doors open to something really spectacular - 6000 square feet of floor space overflowing with a treasure trove of gems and jewelry!
Alfred F. DeScenza began his business modestly in a tiny office on the 6th floor of 387 Washington Street, Boston. He built his reputation for honesty, integrity and customer service by working long hours and always putting his customers first. He prided himself on quality jewelry and watch lines at affordable prices. It was a concept he originated in 1915 and successive generations have been expanding upon ever since.
When Al’s son Fred DeScenza and son-in-law Hugh MacIsaac joined him in the business in 1946, they were able to grow the former one room office into Boston’s premier diamond house, expanding gradually to take over the entire 6th floor. Our tradition of quality and service at outstanding savings is thriving today, with branch stores located in Boston, Framingham,Hingham and Peabody Massachusetts. Founder Al DeScenza would certainly be pleased to see his family's continued involvement in the business. Among our 85 employees are the founder's 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren!
