67th Annual Arts Festival Cohasset Commons South Shore Arts Center

Cohasset, MA— South Shore Art Center presents the 67th Annual Arts Festival back where it belongs: in person and on Cohasset Common. This much-anticipated festival kicks off summer in the South Shore with non-stop art and entertainment throughout Father’s Day Weekend: June 17-19, 2022. This year’s Festival honors the memory and contributions of the late Dorothy Palmer who played a pivotal role in the founding and longevity of South Shore Art Center. For over 60 years, Cohasset’s historic town green has been the site of South Shore Art Center’s annual arts festival, attracting over 14,000 guests. For three days each June, the Town Common transforms into a hub of arts activity with booth upon booth of craft vendors, a pulsing sound stage and a huge marquee housing multiple art exhibitions. The festival is open to the public, with a suggested $5 donation. Hours of operation: Friday, 1pm-7pm Saturday, 10am-7pm Sunday, noon-5pm South Shore Art Center will herald in Festival with a special gala evening on Thursday, June 16. Breathe Life celebrates the intersection between art and social justice as manifest in street art by featuring Rob “Problak” Gibbs, the artist behind some of Boston’s most iconic murals including the larger than life Breathe Life series commissioned by the Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Gibbs will talk about his creative journey as youth artist, mentor and co-founder for Artists For Humanity, his work as MFA’s Artist in Residence, and the genesis behind his Breathe Life murals. Other special attractions for Arts Festival 2022 include: Juried Art Exhibition, Members’ Show and Tent Talks in the Main Tent KidsTent, sponsored by Granite City Electric, featuring a Young Artists’ Exhibition and interactive artmaking activities Art village of juried craft exhibitor booths encircling the green with exq
