“LIGHT THE NIGHT” LIGHTING DISPLAY OPENS IN
PLYMOUTH’S BREWSTER GARDENS
December 7, 2022 (Plymouth, MA) – The newly formed Downtown Waterfront District has hit the ground running with its first project, Light The Night underway in Brewster Gardens. The professional lighting display is free and open to the public between now and December 31, 2022.
The display starts at the colorfully lit pergola at 30 Water Street (across the street from the marina), creating the effect of a holiday tunnel. You are then led down a trail of lights throughout the garden where you will will see a variety of bright holiday displays, including a ten-foot Frosty the Snowman with the classic TV show projected on his big belly, Snoopy and friends ice skating, a Santa popping out of a present box, a holiday train and other bright holiday decorations to help spread cheer for children and adults. The trail ends after you go over the wooden bridge that is fully encased in more bright lights, wreaths and bows.
“The holidays are an ideal time to visit downtown Plymouth with all its wonderful shops and restaurants,” said Christine de la Torre, co-chair of the Downtown Waterfront District and owner of Sprezzatura Boutique on Main Street. “We hope that Plymouth residents will make a night of it by coming down to enjoy the light display and then visit the vast array of shops and restaurants that Plymouth has to offer.”
“We would love to see this display grow and turn into an iconic annual holiday event for Plymouth,” said Deb Tannis, vice chair of the Downtown Waterfront District and owner of Cork & Table restaurant on Court Street. “If anybody would like to help us to support that goal, donations can be made through the Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce’s Venmo (@PACC_1620, and be sure to type DWD in the What’s it for section).“
The Downtown Waterfront District would like to thank the following sponsors who have made this holiday light display possible: Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce’s One Fund, The Plymouth Foundation, Brabo Payroll, Artisan Pig, Cork + Table, BF Architects, Tiny & Sons, Cabbyshack, Rockland Trust, Cape Cod 5, and John Page Electric.
