Seafarer’s Festival

The Forbes House Museum welcomes the community to its Seafarer’s Festival to celebrate our shared New England maritime history through art workshops, craft demonstrations, family activities and musical performances.
Lynn Noel will entertain visitors with chanteys from the clipper era, ballads of navigation under sail, and songs of the USS Jamestown on her 1847 humanitarian voyage to Ireland led by Robert Bennet Forbes. Artists showcasing their work will include Nantucket basket designer Lisa Ahern, Marlinspike sailor’s art designer Barbara Merry, and Wampum jewelry maker Alan Hazzard, a member of the Narragansett Indian tribe.
Tickets are $10/person; members and children under 12 are free. The museum is proud to participate in the Card to Culture program to broaden accessibility to cultural programming. EBT, WIC and ConnectorCare cardholders can show their cards at the door for free event admission.
