After nearly three decades in corporate human resources, Lisa Ryan knew that she wanted to get back to the work that fueled her passion—helping organizations and small businesses build strong teams and empowering individuals to take the next step in their careers. In 2020, the Pembroke resident launched Star HR Consulting, bringing fractional HR services to small and mid-sized businesses that might otherwise lack access to strategic human resources guidance. 

From local family owned businesses and small non profits to startups and multinational organizations, Star HR Consulting delivers strategic solutions that lead to positive results. Lisa’s approach is never one-size-fits-all. Her services are customized to meet the specific needs of each business she works with, whether that means assisting with employee engagement surveys and leadership consulting or advising companies on how to attract and develop talent. 

An expert connector and active listener, Lisa not only helps business owners strengthen their people practices, she also coaches mid-career professionals through career pivots, resume development, and interview preparation. “People generally spend more time at work than they do at home,” she says. “I tell my clients, if you don’t like 80 percent of your current role, then you probably need to be looking for something new.”

Since launching her business, Lisa has grown Star HR Consulting into a trusted resource for companies with a presence in the U.S. as well as across the globe. Through her multifaceted work, she is reshaping how small businesses approach human resources and coaching individuals through career transitions, empowering them to chase their dreams.
