Old Colony Hospice & Palliative Care has been delivering quality services to patients and their families across more than 60 communities in Bristol, Norfolk, and Plymouth counties in Southeastern Massachusetts since its founding in 1979 by Dr. Ruth A. McLain, who currently serves as the hospice’s Medical Director. The team at Old Colony Hospice provides a source of comfort and support for individuals facing chronic, progressive, and complex illnesses, as well as terminal diagnoses.
Recognized as a top-ranked hospice provider due to its quality of care and family satisfaction, Old Colony Hospice has earned several accolades, including the Hospice Honors Elite award, year after year. As a private, not-for-profit and accredited organization, they prioritize lower nurse caseloads to allow for more time spent with patients and their families.
A dedicated team of registered nurses, social workers, counselors, hospice aides and volunteers, works collaboratively to provide pain and symptom management, along with emotional and spiritual care. Services are offered in the environment that patients call home.
From its experienced leadership team and clinical staff to its committed administrative team and volunteers, everyone involved in Old Colony Hospice & Palliative Care strives to ensure patients and their families feel cared for and supported during these challenging times. “The common strength between our staff and volunteers is a commitment to the care of our patients,” says President and CEO Toni L. Eaton. “Being able to bring comfort to individuals and families is such an honor.”
