These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the South Shore Home, Life & Style website, print and digital publications, events, mobile messaging, and any related services (collectively, the “Services”) provided by South Shore Home, Life & Style (“SSHLS,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and any policies referenced herein (such as our Privacy Policy).

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Services, you (a) represent that you are at least 13 years old (16 in certain jurisdictions) and (b) agree to comply with these Terms, all applicable laws, and any additional guidelines or rules we post.

2. Permitted Use & User Conduct

You may use the Services solely for personal, non-commercial purposes unless you have an advertising or sponsored-content agreement with us. You agree not to:

Post or transmit unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or infringing content;
Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or data;
Use the Services to disseminate spam or unsolicited marketing;
Engage in any activity that interferes with or disrupts the Services.

3. Subscriptions, Purchases & Billing

Subscriptions (print or digital). Prices, billing frequency, and renewal terms are disclosed at checkout or in your order form. Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current rate until canceled.
Advertising & sponsored content. Placement dates, rates, and creative requirements are set out in insertion orders or signed agreements.
Event tickets & merchandise. All sales are final unless an event is canceled or rescheduled by us.

You agree to provide accurate payment information and authorize SSHLS (and applicable third-party processors) to charge all fees when due. Late or declined payments may result in suspension of service.

4. User-Generated Content

If you submit comments, photographs, reviews, contest entries, or other materials (“UGC”), you grant SSHLS a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, display, reproduce, adapt, publish, and distribute that UGC in any media. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to the UGC and that its use will not violate any third-party rights or laws.

5. Intellectual Property

All magazine articles, images, logos, videos, and site code are the intellectual property of SSHLS or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. Except for limited personal use, you may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without prior written permission.

6. Advertising & Sponsored Content

Advertisers are responsible for the legality and accuracy of their ads. SSHLS reserves the right to reject or cancel any advertisement at its sole discretion. Sponsored content will be clearly labeled. Any metrics or performance targets are estimates; no specific results are guaranteed.

7. Promotions, Contests & Giveaways

Additional rules may apply to sweepstakes, contests, and promotions. By participating, you agree to those official rules as well as these Terms. Where rules conflict, the specific promotion rules govern.

8. Mobile Messaging Terms

By opting in to our SMS program, you agree to receive up to four marketing texts per month (plus transactional or requested messages). Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for assistance. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Your consent is not a condition of any purchase. 9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available.” SSHLS makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding accuracy, reliability, or availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

SSHLS will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of—or inability to use—the Services. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific Service giving rise to the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SSHLS, its affiliates, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your UGC, or your misuse of the Services.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to SSHLS or other users. Sections 4–12 will survive termination.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, and you consent to such jurisdiction.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. We will post the revised version on our website and update the Last updated date. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
