An evolution of Marshfield’s longstanding and beloved restaurant Ember, E/2 Kitchen Bar has long been a destination for creative cocktails. Rooted in Ember’s history, the restaurant carries the same glamorous atmosphere and open kitchen concept as its predecessor. What has emerged is a modern menu that suits the region’s dine-in and take out interests, adapting to the fast-paced world of its fans – still the meeting place for South Shore omnivores and cocktail-craving guests. Chef George Willette III continues his focus on freshness and creativity in the kitchen, with a varied menu offering a superb culinary experience.
Often found behind E/2’s captivating bar, Owner/Mixologist Charly Bournazos serves up some shop talk on current trends in hospitality.
“The pandemic has been a pivotal turning point for the restaurant industry. We thought it best to take the opportunity to update our profile to meet the needs of an evolving kitchen-plate-take home menu, best satisfying our customers.” That leap has expanded E/2’s menu to offer more affordability and simplicity in its offerings, including family-style take-home meals.
In the fall, cranberries often appear on E/2’s evolving menus in the form of apple cranberry crisp and also as a side dish in a popular take-home, family-style, gourmet Thanksgiving dinner.
At the bar, Charly offers a longtime favorite from an expansive custom crafted cocktail menu - the Prickly in Pink (recipe below). The martini shines with its sparkly sugar-rimmed martini glass filled with top-shelf grapefruit vodka, cranberry and pink grapefruit juices and a splash of sour mix. Delish!
