Jamie Barbuto, the owner of Reign Beauty in Hanover, believes that everyone deserves to receive the “royal treatment” once in a while. A licensed esthetician with over 20 years of experience in the industry, she recently took the plunge to open her own beauty boutique specializing in skincare, waxing, spray tanning, and more. 

“I had just turned 50, my children were away at college and I was looking for a new challenge,” explains Barbuto, who launched her business in April. Situated in a newly renovated space in Hanover’s Four Corners neighborhood, Reign Beauty offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere where customers come for personalized, results-driven services. Barbuto hand-selected high-performance skincare lines, such as SixGldn and SkinCeuticals, to pamper her clients and help them look and feel their best.

“My goal was to create a relaxing experience,” says Barbuto, whose friendly personality has helped her to build a community of regular customers. “We’re not rushing people through. We aim to be more personable and have a chill vibe. We’ll have bachelorette parties come in for a relaxing spa day, and some clients will stop by just to have doughnuts and coffee with us.”

Owning a business has been an amazing new beginning for Barbuto, who hopes to inspire other aspiring entrepreneurs to chase their dreams. “Don’t be afraid to go after what you want,” she says. “You’re never too old to make a change.”
