Whether framing a work of fine art or redesigning the flow of a home’s interior, beauty follows Diana Cousineau Aveni wherever she goes. She is the owner of Hingham Furniture & Design, a full-service-design center located in downtown Hingham that specializes in commercial and residential home design, professional art framing services, and attractive home decor and accessories. In business since 2004, Aveni is both a fine artist and a sought-after designer who has made it her mission to bring the ideas and wishes of her customers to life.
In 2015, Aveni purchased and renovated an historic hingham property and transformed it into a spectacular multi-level showroom. Inside, shoppers can peruse a curated collection of furnishings and decor items and find unique gifts for all sorts of occasions. “We provide all accessories for the home, which includes, furniture, rugs, fine art, custom framing, restorations, pottery, wallpaper, window treatments, amazing gift sets, dishes and glassware, lighting, and more,” says Aveni. “According to the feedback from our customers, everyone is wowed by our inventory, which changes monthly. It’s a complete shopping experience. If we don’t have it we can get it or make it!”
Aveni’s background as a painter and a sculptor enhances her work as a designer. “I like to think outside of the box and have an artistic obsession to create,” says the Hingham resident, who is able to provide complete design services as well as all of the products necessary to complete a project. Aveni advises her clients on elegant ways to bring more art into their homes, whether by creating a gallery wall of family photographs or displaying a piece of local artwork. “Art brings a sense of style and design to a home and it has the power to lift your spirits,” she says. Between her design work, custom framing and home decor sales, Aveni is always working hard to keep all of the balls in the air. “It takes a lot of time and dedication,” says Aveni. “One service leads into another, but that’s all part of being a full-service business, and I love what I do.”
