If there were a Michelin star for food trucks, Thyme Traveling might already have one. This chef-driven mobile kitchen helmed by Michael Kelly—former Executive Chef at Hingham’s beloved Rustic Kitchen—delivers high-concept dishes with real culinary chops. Since launching with his wife Amber in 2019, Kelly has turned garden-inspired fare into a truck menu that features crispy Bang Bang Chicken, globally influenced tacos, Mexican Street Corn Arancini and crave-worthy vegetarian creations.

“We’ve always believed in bringing something special to the everyday meal. People don’t expect food like this to come from a truck—until they try it,” says Chef Michael Kelly. With over 25 years of fine dining experience and a commitment to scratch-made cooking, the couple has turned Thyme Traveling into a South Shore staple, catering everything from weddings to weeknight dinners. Operating two trucks across the region, their consistent presence and rotating seasonal menus have made them a fan favorite.

“I’m originally from Santa Barbara, California, and grew up with the best Mexican food ever,” says Chef Clint Smith. “After years of not finding anything that came close here in Massachusetts, I decided to start my own gig.” And thank goodness he did. South Shore Taco Guy brings bold SoCal flavor to the Massachusetts food truck scene, slinging authentic tacos that taste like sunshine and surf. Whether you’re a California native or just taco-obsessed, this truck delivers the kind of bite you’ll crave all week.

Since 2015, they’ve been known for made-from-scratch tacos, burritos and burrito bowls that pack serious flavor into every bite. The fan-favorite? “Around the World,” a taco trio featuring pulled pork, chicken and seasoned ground beef. This California-style Mexican fare has earned multiple “Best of the South Shore” awards for both Best Food Truck and Best Tacos.
