Barker House by Wedgewood Weddings

Nestled along Scituate Harbor, this historic property dates back to 1634 and is one of the “oldest surviving English buildings in America.” The New England Room with bar can be used for smaller weddings, or for a cocktail hour paired with The Williams Room, which has a maximum capacity of 220 guests for the reception. Evidence of the property’s charming history as a former stagecoach stop can still be detected in exposed wooden beams, cathedral ceiling, and a stone fireplace.

Built in 1878, this Gilded Age mansion sits on 80 picture-perfect acres at the base of the Blue Hills less than 10 miles from Boston. Seasonal tented receptions accommodating up to 175 guests with ceremonies on the front lawn are held May through October. Intimate indoor weddings for up to 50 guests are hosted here year-round. Also available is a budget-friendly “micro wedding” curated for 15 people or less, excluding food and alcohol, for under $1,000.

Popular during spring, summer and fall, the lawn area is designed for cocktails with a covered porch and patio found under the Sperry Tent.
