Waterfront Memories

Heidi Harting picked up her first camera at the age of 18, seeing stories all around her that needed to be told. She graduated from the New England School of Photography and went on to establish her business, Heidi Harting Photography, in Plymouth. While her specialty is portraiture, she also loves landscape photography. For Harting, who lives just a stone’s throw from the harbor, the town wharf holds a special place in her heart because it reminds her of the days when her father would come to visit and set up his chair behind the Harbormaster to fish.

“My father passed away in the summer of 2012. To work through my grief, I started photographing down on the waterfront and at the places we had enjoyed together,” says Harting. “Landscape photography was something I hadn’t explored before and I found that it brought me peace.” Her scenic images capture the glow and grit of Plymouth’s historic waterfront.
