What’s bright yellow, has four wheels, and takes riders on a trip back in time? If you guessed the Hingham History Tour Cart, you’d be correct. Launched this summer by the Hingham Historical Society, a new street legal, low-speed electric golf cart offers guests a fun way to tour Hingham’s historical sites.

Tours are 45 minutes long and can take up to four individuals on a safe, relaxing trip to some of the town’s iconic landmarks and hidden historical gems. Passengers can choose from a series of tour themes, which include: Hingham History Highlights, Colonial Hingham History, Hingham Revolutionary War History, and Nineteenth Century Hingham. Transportation for people traveling from the MBTA Greenbush Line: West Hingham train station can also be arranged.

The Hingham History Tour Cart operates Wednesday through Friday by appointment. Tickets are $20 for Hingham Historical Society members, $25 for non-members, and there is a $10 discount on parties of four people. For more information, visit hinghamhistorical.org.
