Giving Tuesday is a global generosity movement that aims to inspire individuals to give back to charitable causes in their community. It the perfect opportunity to make a donation to one of the amazing nonprofits on the South Shore. Here is a list of some of the local nonprofits making a difference in our community all year round.

Atlantic Symphony Orchestra: A premier regional orchestra recognized for its artistic excellence. 

empowerHER: A South Shore-based nonprofit organization on a mission to empower, support and connect girls and young women who have lost their mothers. 

Friendship Home: An overnight respite and activity center in Norwell that provides day and evening programs for individuals with disabilities and those who care and advocate for them. 

Interfaith Social Services: A charitable organization that provides food, mental health counseling and homelessness prevention services to families and individuals in need on the South Shore. 

JETT Foundation: An organization that empowers people and families impacted by Duchenne muscular dystrophy through the development of transformative programming, educational opportunities, and ongoing support for every stage of a Duchenne journey. 

Magical Moon Farm & Foundation: A sacred sanctuary and foundation that aims to nurture and empower children with cancer and other life threatening conditions and their families by teaching healthy ways to deal with challenges and stress. 

North and South Rivers Watershed Association: NSRWA is dedicated to preserving, restoring, maintaining and conserving the waters and related natural resources within the watershed and inspiring a community of water stewards committed to healthy local rivers. 

NVNA and Hospice: Dedicated to providing high quality patient care in the comforting environment of home, NVNA and Hospice is the premier independent non-profit visiting nurse organization offering a range of healthcare and hospice services. 

South Shore Childrens Chorus: Creating community through song, this organization provides quality musical education and vocal training to students living in South Shore communities and beyond. 

South Shore Food Bank: Part of a community effort to bring food, dignity and hope to people in need, SSFB serves as a hub for a network of food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters supported by the Greater Boston Food Bank.

South Shore Health Foundation: ​​A not-for-profit, charitable health system offering primary and specialty care, hospital care, home health and community care, emergency and urgent care, and preventative and wellness services.

The Arc of the South Shore: Committed to helping people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as their parents and siblings, for more than 70 years. 

Type One Inc.: A local organization dedicated to funding research to cure Type 1 diabetes (T1D) and support those in need of help to manage their disease.
